Shakey’s Pizza In SM Mall Dasmariñas Philippines

By on March 20, 2014

Shakey’s is an American pizza chain that began in 1954.  It expanded to the Philippines and Japan around 1975. We ate at the Shakey’s at SM Mall in Dasmarinas City today.

On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it an 8. Immediately upon walking in the door there was a waiter to seat us. He had us sit at one location while he cleared a more appropriate and comfortable table. Our menus were given to us promptly. The restaurant was clean with a rather pleasant and homey decor. The menu was full and consisted of pizza, pasta, and chicken. The prices were very reasonable.

The waiter returned to collect the menus within an appropriate time frame. We ordered the large “belly buster” pizza which consisted of a combination of pepperoni, salami, green peppers, onions, beef, Italian sausage, ham, mushrooms, salami bits, and black olives. We were given the option of thick or thin crust, of course. The waiter then politely collected the menus and returned a few moments later with our drinks, plates, and cutlery. One of the few downfalls was the plate looked somewhat elegant but in realty was made of plastic.

While waiting for the pizza, another waiter did something I found most impressive. He came to the table and told us the pizza will be 6 minutes. Another water returned a few minutes later and told us it would be another 3 minutes. We got our pizza exactly with the time frame he stated.

I have had a lot of pizzas in my days from many different restaurants, but I have to say this pizza was one of the best I have ever had. The meat was perfectly done, the peppers had just the right crunchiness, the texture was superb, and the crust was great. Two thumbs up, Shakeys!

On a negative note, we did have some difficulty getting our bill. We waited for about 7 to 10 minutes and had to seek out the waiter’s attention. This would have been easily rectified if we had of been asked if we would like anything else. This was the 2 point loss.

In conclusion, if the other Shakeys restaurants are anything like the one in Dasmariñas City, they are certainly well worth while frequenting.
