At the tenant meeting, the positive and negative aspects mentioned above were discussed. We were all in agreement that the complex is, and will be, a very desirable place to live. The positive elements outweigh the negative by far. At the time of completion, it would be in the interest of this committee to arrange a social gathering for the purpose of celebration.  

We were also in agreement that it is not the intent of this association (committee) to dwell on negative aspects and we would much prefer to discuss and celebrate the positive. 

The main negative issues were the completion dates.  

There are some completions that can certainly be placed on a waiting list and have negligible impact on day-to day-living. These include, but are not limited to, hallways, certain deficiencies, lockers, gym, roof top, Amazon drop off area, etc.  

There are certain completions, however, that have an impact on day-to-day living and the comforts of the complex. These include, but are not limited to, elevatorsdoor locks and fobsparking, balconies, etc. The ones in italics and bold being of foremost important.  

It was clearly agreed that the main issue that stands out is the lack of communication. We all stated that communication has been a key issue since the initial signing of our leases. It was suggested that Patry Inc. should employ a communications officer of some description. This would certainly eliminate many of the frustrations and negative emotions that have been encountered by tenants thus far.  

For example, even an email going out stating the elevators that were said to be ready October 1, will be delayed for the following reasons. The email could even read as follows: 

“Dear Valued Tenants, 

 

We understand that the initial email stated that the elevators would be functional as of October 1, 2021. We regret to inform you, however, that this date has been delayed for the following reason(s): 

…. 

 

Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused any tenants and we will provide you with further updates as soon as possible.”  

 

Even an email drafted containing wording such as the above applying to all the delays would have set the minds of many tenants at ease.  

The meeting was ended with all in favor of conducting the next meeting in one month. The date will be released soon.
